Call for Workshop Proposals
IEEE International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics, Chicago, USA, May 19-22, 2019
Deadline for proposal submission: December 10, 2018
The IEEE International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics BHI) is the flagship conference of IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE-EMBS) on the topics of informatics and computing in healthcare and life sciences. The theme of the BHI2019 is “Integrative informatics and modeling for precision and preventive medicine.”
IEEE BHI2019 will be co-localized with IEEE BSN2019 (2019 IEEE Body Sensor Network) at the University of Illinois at Chicago, IL, during May 19-22, 2019. It will provide a unique forum to showcase enabling technologies of devices and sensors, hardware and software systems, predictive models, databases, and big data analytics that optimize the acquisition, transmission, processing, monitoring, storage, retrieval, analysis, visualization and interpretation of vast volumes of multi-modal biomedical data, as well as related social, behavior, environmental, and geographical data. It will also demonstrate the deployment of BHI informatics solutions that integrate key technologies including machine learning, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), mHealth, e-Health, human computer interface, telemedicine, bioinformatics, sensors, imaging, and public health monitoring, to achieve patient-centric and outcome-driven effective health care. BHI2019 has the following 10 tracks: Bioinformatics; Imaging Informatics; Biomedical Signal Processing Informatics; Sensor Informatics; Behavioral Informatics; Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning; Clinical Informatics; Public Health Informatics; Precision Medicine Informatics; Disease Oriented Informatics.
BHI2019 will provide dedicated special topics workshops to encourage BHI-2019 participants to exchange knowledge and insights, and to cultivate collaborations.
Proposals for Workshops
Workshops: Pre-conference or post-conference
The BHI-2019 Workshops are categorized into regular sessions and tutorials. Regular workshops will cover current and future development of biomedical and health informatics at the intersection of computer and information sciences, health analytics, personal genomics, precision medicine, smart sensors and behavioral and integrative informatics. Tutorial workshops will provide reviews of an emerging technology or application area of biomedical and health informatics, with a focus area such as precision medicine and preventive care, but may also involve registrants through a hands-on experience or demonstrations. A workshop will be delivered by a group of leading researchers and pioneers in their respective areas in a half-day format with a nominal fee charged to registrants. The proposals will be reviewed by the workshop organizers. Please note that workshop submissions will be included in the digital program of BHI 2019 but will not appear in IEEE Xplore Proceedings. A website will be made available to Workshop registrants to download any materials provided by the Workshop organizer(s). Workshop organizer(s) may provide additional material such as handouts to participants during the Workshop.
Please submit your special session proposal by December 10 2018 through the EDAS management system (https://edas.info/N25574). Presentations and materials offered to workshop registrants will be reviewed by the workshop scientific committee. The organizers are fully responsible for ensuring the quality of the workshop content.
